Does anybody know the particular scientific experiments that were conducted and where to find information on those experiments? Some of these figures sound like survey numbers, so if it is from a survey does anybody know the particular survey or where to find the information on those surveys? I suppose I am appealing to the authority aspect of persuasion as I would like to believe that because Dr. Cialdini is educated he has authority, but it would be nice to know where he obtained the information he is using.
Scarcity - when we know life is near, then every minute, every action, is infinitely valuable. One possible cause is comparison. We don't see things in a vacuum or absolutely for it is, but only comparatively. Cold is only cold because we are warmer, but would feel warm if we were colder. Most of us think 40 years is a long time away. So what amount of time would seem short? For me, around 20 years.

Its an abslout nightmare watching this, understanding the width of its impact on sociaty and the people within it. This is a handbook on how, through the work and knowledge of science, to efficiently exploit human deficiencies to maximize proffit. To know that this man is a prominent researcher within the socialpsychology community, gives me chilles though every fiber in my body. To see the comment section not overflowed with negative response, is somehow worse. The incredible accomplishment to be able to study of our own kind and our capabilities, the science of understanding how and why we do the things that we do, have come down to this. And no one really seems to be bothered. Standing on the shoulder of giants to make people buy more, and if they didnt want it, you can convince them they do. This isnt science. This is sophisticated capitalism. the always profit chasing capitalism.
